Wade Phillips was asked Monday if there would be any lineup changes going forward with the Cowboys 1-6 and having lost four in a row. He said that hasn't been decided yet.

"We haven't changed many people because we felt like the guys that we had were doing the job and the people behind them weren't better," Phillips said. "You get into that, too. Yeah, you can fire a bunch of people, but if the guy behind them isn't better, you're not helping yourself. Sometimes it's help the guys who are playing get better, and that's part of being more fundamentally sound."

Is it time to find out if the backups can do?

"I think we can evaluate those things," Phillips said. "We've let players play some to see how they do. In some cases, it's hurt us."

One guess as to a change: Barry Church at safety for Alan Ball.

In the third quarter of Sunday's loss to Jacksonville, Church had replaced Ball in the base defense. Ball was the third cornerback once Terence Newman was no longer able to play. Ball has not made many plays all season and the coaches might want to see more of the undrafted rookie Church.

I applaud any move that gets Ball out of the safety position. He doesn't display the instincts or quickness to play.

Ball and Barber are the two starters I have grown to despise this season.

Put Church in. Get him some experience. We're gonna need two new safeties after this year.

Liking that, Get Church and McCrary in there. Fuck the other two. And stop being so damn scared Wade. You know you are finished after this season. Collect your check, sit the money players and see what Dallas may have next season for the NEXT HC if he decides to keep em. And it would be a hell of a lot more exciting to see the younger cats play. NON MONEY guys. Guys that will make mistakes because they are young, and hungry, not old, tired and just playing for a check. Making "business decisions".
