Under the assumption that Jerry is still the GM, Garrett is still the Head Coach.

Pick one:
*Assistant coach
*Free Agent
*Draft pick

.....that you would add to this team this off-season. Be realistic and explain your choices.

Great thread.

Free Agent: TJ Ward. IMO an impact safety is 75% crafty experience and 25% physical talent. Drafting a safety is not going to help. Experience in reading defenses is what will help develop anyone drafted in the secondary. Byrd is a crapshoot good but who knows if will get whiny on any team.

Assistant coach: OC: Greg Knapp. If Callahan is gone then Peyton Mannings QB coach who would bring the playcalling that he has witnessed Manning using, but also is well-versed in the WCO and especially the zone blocking scheme that Dallas seemed to succeed in last year.

Draft pick: DT: Timmy Jernigan. Just a solid need pick.

Asst Coach- Whoever Jerry decides. He really is in touch with everything going on around the league. He has always picked winners for asst coaches.

Free Agent- Again, we have to trust GM Jerry here. He has a long history of knowing exactly which free agents tp pursue, and always signs them to bargain basement, salary cap bargain deals.

Draft Pick- Make it 3/3. Jerry knows just about everything about how to spot real talent, and has a real knack for wheeling and dealing on draft day. I think every time another GM's phone ring, they pray it isn't Jerry calling to take them to cleaners.

I heard Jerry has already contacted the Jets about trading our 3rd round pick for their 2016 7th round pick. The Jets are wanting Jerry to throw in Dwayne Harris as well. Look for something to happen by the end of the day tomorrow.

T.J Ward is a great call.

Free Agent: Mike Neal - He's young and has experience at a few places (DE, DT and 3-4 OLB). Injury history and PED suspension are risks, but might get him in the Cowboys price range.

Assistant Coach: Chad Morris, Clemson - OC

Draft Pick: Trent Murphy - DE - Stanford

Way to commit and put yourself out there with a bold and specific prediction.

*Assistant coach - Ken Norton, Jr. - New DC, will light a fire under and if necessary, kick players asses
*Free Agent - Jairus Byrd FS - Free Safety with ball skills will make entire defense better
*Draft pick - Kony Ealy DE (suck it GloryDays) - Get some young horses for the defensive line

What kind of defense would Norton run? Beyond a 4-3 (which I am assuming he would run), what current defense would he emulate?

Seattle's aka the 2014 version of Monte's defense.

It's basically Pete Carroll's scheme. Tampa 2 basics but more aggressive.

Sold. I'm in. Thought of hime last year but didn't know if he was more of a motivator or a schemer/coach.
