IRVING, Texas -- Kevin Ogletree’s season was cut short because of toe surgery and his off-season could be a dicey one of there is a lockout.
Ogletree is in the early stages of his rehab. He started lifting and while he remains in a walking boot he said he could begin running by Feb. 1
“If everything was to stay on schedule [with a new collective bargaining agreement], then I would be perfect when everything starts up,” Ogletree said.
But if there is no CBA by March 4, then Ogletree – and the other injured players – would no longer be allowed to rehab at the team’s Valley Ranch facility. The team can continue to monitor Ogletree’s rehab at a different facility. This could explain the partnership the Cowboys entered into with Michael Johnson Performance in McKinney during the season. Former Cowboys assistant strength and conditioning coach Lance Walker is the director of performance at the facility.
“Let’s hope I can stay here [at Valley Ranch] with the best trainers and physical staff as far as strength and conditioning,” Ogletree said.
