Dallas Cowboys' punter Mat McBriar will not get to work with his long snapper, L.P. Ladouceur, in the Pro Bowl.

Atlanta coach Mike Smith, who will handle the NFC team, today selected Zak DeOssie for the role of long snapper. Ladouceur had 141 on-line snaps for punts, field goals and conversion kicks this season, one fewer than DeOssie.

Perhaps special-teams tackles made the difference. Ladouceur was credited with participating in one special-teams tackle, two fewer than DeOssie.

In six seasons with the Cowboys, Ladouceur has made 882 snaps. The Cowboys list all 882 as on the mark.

A quality long snapper is an unsung hero.

Anyone remember going through hell in the early 2000's trying to find a good one?

Yea, it just sucks wasting a roster spot on one who doesn't do shit else for the team.
