NFL.com: Don't rule out Manusky & Fangio
The Dallas Cowboys could consider San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Greg Manusky and Stanford defensive coordinator Vic Fangio as possible defensive coordinators on Jason Garrett's staff, according to a league source.
Fangio was with Jim Harbaugh at Stanford and is expected to join Harbaugh in San Francisco, but there are some people in the league advising the Cowboys to push for Fangio, according to the source. Greg Manusky is the current D-coordinator in San Francisco, be is not expected to be retained by Harbaugh. He could be a candidate for the same job in San Diego.
Current Chargers defensive coordinator Ron Rivera is likely to get the Carolina Panthers' head-coaching job.
NFL Network insider Michael Lombardi reported on Sunday that that Todd Bowles will be the Dallas Cowboys' next defensive coordinator, but he isn't coach Jason Garrett's first choice.
League sources say Bowles' Miami Dolphins counterpart, defensive coordinator Mike Nolan, is the No. 1 target, but he's unlikely to go to Dallas because he's under contract and it's a lateral move.
