Feel free to skip this. I'm not sure how interesting this'll be to anyone but myself. And I'm really only doing this as a sort of therapy.

  • First off, Chicago is a team I looked at before the season and thought to myself, you know, they could be a dark-horse. The problem I had with it was that I knew Green Bay would be a monster, and while I didn't think Minnesota would be near as good as they were last year, I thought they'd at least be around the 9-7 mark. I also thought Detroit would be around 6 wins for the year. So while I wanted to say Chicago was a dark horse, I kinda had a hard time making it work, logistically. Yesterday, they looked fucking good. Which brings me to . . .
  • They have a great coaching staff. I mean, that coaching staff is littered with head coaching failures. But back to being position coaches, they're doing one hell of a job. I mean, you look at Mike Tice, and he's just sort of this big, dumb, goofy guy, right? Hell of an offensive line coach. They lose their starting LT in the begining of the game . . . and the line blocks better? Unheard of.
  • I'm a homer. I'm proud to be a homer. I can't be a fan of a team if I keep a glass-half full approach. I'm a firm believer in the power of positive thinking. That isn't to suggest I think that because I go all homer-out on the Cowboys, that my positive thoughts have some sort of impact on the game. Obviously not. Rather, thinking positively is something that I do in life, in general. And it's served me well. So I tend to practice it in every facet of my life. When I worked in sales, I went into presentations expecting to get the contract signed. When I was single and would talk to women, I expected to get a number. And when a football season starts, I expect to win the division and possibly more. With that in mind . . .
  • I heard on Mike & Mike this morning that in the past 20 years, only 13% of the teams to start 0-2 have gone on to make the playoffs. I think we can beat the odds to do it. In order to do that . . .
  • Jason Garrett needs to die. Okay . . . a little extreme, perhaps. But please, can someone tell me how we can't score? I bet you more than half the teams in the league would kill to have HALF the talent on offense that we have. Yet, it's the same old, same old . . . drive the ball down the field, have a stupid penalty, stall. What. The. Fuck. We have honest to God blue chip talent at WR (x2), TE, RB, and QB. And while our offensive line isn't dominant, they played considerably better yesterday. Certainly good enough to put up points.
  • Why the fuck are we so one-dimensional??? 51 pass attempts yesterday? Ridiculous. We were never down so far, minus the last 5 minutes of the game, to dictact that kind of offensive playcalling.
  • Bench Marion "Dead Legs" Barber. He dances in the background like Barry Sanders, but he's got 20lb cleats.
  • Felix Jones needs to handle every kick off.
  • Dez Bryant needs to handle every punt return.
  • Felix Jones and Tashard Choice need to get the lions share of the carries.
  • It's time to start playing with a hair on fire, no holds barred, kill everyone mentality. We have the talent to do it.
  • Roy Williams play well. That was encouraging.
  • I'm glad Mike Jenkins is okay.

    And one more thing . . . regarding coaching . . .
  • I'm a results oriented person. That's why I fell off the Parcells bandwagon. I don't give a shit what he did for the Giants or Patriots. I care what a coach does for my football team. And despite the solid personnel moves, Parcells wasn't getting results on the field. Buying top of the line ingredients is pointless if you can only cook toast.

Wade has also had a hand in bringing in top notch talent. But he's not getting results on the field either. And Garrett looks like he can't even boil water without burning it. If we don't turn this ship around, and I mean, if we don't go 10-4 down the stretch and make some noise in the playoffs . . . it's time to get a new coaching staff.

Let me be honest with you guys, last season I was hoping for another bad December so we could fire this coaching staff and not waste another year with these talented players. When we made the playoffs I enjoyed beating the Eagles but I also knew it meant we wouldn't fire Wade or Jason.

In the offseason I've heard all this crap about how we will be in the playoffs and might play in the Super Bowl at home but I never drank that koolaid. I was (and still am to a degree) certainly hopeful that it might happen but I knew it was unlikely.

Now that we have started with two losses to two teams we should've beaten I've completely dropped all expectation for this team. I'm just going to continue watching football and maybe at the end of the season I'll be surprised with how my team finished.

That mentality was what got me through the Seattle playoff loss after 2006. While I hated to lose, I took comfort in knowing Parcells would retire, again.

When we made the playoffs I enjoyed beating the Eagles but I also knew it meant we wouldn't fire Wade or Jason.

I was so tired of the whole "haven't won a playoff game in 13 years" mantra that everyone kept saying. I was happy to get that monkey off our back. I loved everything about that playoff push last year, except how it ended in Minnesota. But that game the wheels just fell off. Still, I thought we would've built off that and started this season strong.

In the offseason I've heard all this crap about how we will be in the playoffs and might play in the Super Bowl at home but I never drank that koolaid.

I did. If someone spiked that koolaid would've OD'd.

Now that we have started with two losses to two teams we should've beaten I've completely dropped all expectation for this team. I'm just going to continue watching football and maybe at the end of the season I'll be surprised with how my team finished.

Pretty much the same. I've dropped all expectations. I don't really know what to expect. I'm just amazed we have so much individual talent, yet play like such shit on offense.

This is the coach that we should ahve went after for our Oline, after he was cut by the Jags. I'm familiar with Tice up here in MN

I've been saying this, but yet people want to guive Garrett a pass and make all sorts of excuses for him. For far too long, I've seen OCs do more with far less.

[*]Why the fuck are we so one-dimensional??? 51 pass attempts yesterday? Ridiculous. We were never down so far, minus the last 5 minutes of the game, to dictact that kind of offensive playcalling.

You've answered this question.

[*]Bench Marion "Dead Legs" Barber. He dances in the background like Barry Sanders, but he's got 20lb cleats.

I disagree. Barber was the only RB doing something. Did you miss as to how Barber had consecutive runs of 7 yards, 7 yards, then 8 yards? And Garrett just stopped with the runninjg game when it was working. Garrett is too pass happy. That wouldn't have been so bad, if he tried tog et the ball in Bryant's hand more. As for Felix.... who fucking idea was it to allow him to add 15-20 lbs. and then try to sell us that he hdn't lost his burst? He could barely turn the corners.

[*]It's time to start playing with a hair on fire, no holds barred, kill everyone mentality. We have the talent to do it.

But this "kill everyone" mentality needs to start with the Oline. Take a look at Gurode and Davis...do they look like they want tio kill anyone let alone everyone? I recall as to how when Gurode came out of college his main trait was that he was nasty and mean. I hadn't seen any of it, with that bottom lip sticking out---he looks like Dopey.

[*]Roy Williams play well. That was encouraging.

Until he fumbled. I'm getting tired of his first dowqn antics. Just get your fucking ass back to the huddle. Too many people alweays want to celebrate little shit.

Amem. This is ridiculous. Bottoml;ine, we need to get younger on the coaching staff. Now I think some of the coaches we need to keep, not talking about either Wade of Garrett. But I mentioned DeCamillis as being a possible successor.

And it's impacting the defense. You can tell those players on defense are frustrated, because they are busting their asses off and the offense is giving them no break. Now Sheik mentioned the importance of getting turnovers, but my thing is this: the most important thing for the defense to do is to stop the other team from scoring. I know... DUH! But you do that by either getting turnovers or forcing three and outs. I can live without not getting turnovers if we force some three and outs instead. I understand about field position, but in the ned it's about rpeventing the score and at worse holding to 3 points.

You mentioned about getting rid of coaches, but we need to get rid of players and it starts on the Oline. Get rid of Houck first and foremost. It was right to get rid of Bruce Read and Brian Stewart, and we saw the improvements on the respective untis once they were replaced, well we need to get rid of the Oline coach. This game has passed him by.

We need to get rid of every starter on that Oline not name Free. He's the only bright spot. If it was right to get rid of Adams---and that was done way too late, for being overweight, overpaid, lazy, old, and injury-prone... then how do we justify keeping Gurode, Davis, Colombo, and Kosier? They are a bad influence on the younger players: being rewarded for being overweight, old, and lazy.
