SportsDayDFW Cowboys writer David Moore talked about a number of Cowboys-related issues with readers on Monday afternoon. Here are some of the highlights:
On how he'd rank the Cowboys' priorities entering this year's NFL Draft:
MOORE:
1. Offensive line.
2. Offensive line.
3. Safety.
4. Linebacker.
5. Offensive line.
On which players he'd like the Cowboys to target in the 1st round of the NFL Draft:
MOORE: It is early, but Peterson, the cornerback out of LSU, is projected to go in the top 10. The Cowboys will probably have a top 10 pick. Colorado's Nate Solder, a 6-8, 302 pound offensive tackle, is also a top 10 pick. The Cowboys should take a long, hard look at him.
On if he expects Jerry Jones to make some gambles on the offensive line in the upcoming NFL Draft:
MOORE: Gamble? No, but he should make some shrewd offensive line picks in the early rounds.
On if the offensive line can be revamped in one season:
MOORE: Depends on how you define revamp. If you feel this line needs four new starters, then no. If you believe you can keep three starters in place -- say Andre Gurode , Doug Free and Kyle Kosier -- and still revamp the line, I'd say yes.
On if Jerry Jones will pick up some offensive linemen in free agency:
MOORE: Here's a better question: when does free agency start? The whole off-season is up in the air with labor Armageddon on the horizon. Once business does resume, I would be surprised if Jones didn't attack his issues on the offensive line in free agency.
