The Dallas Morning News writer David Moore chatted with fans on Friday and answered questions regarding the Dallas Cowboys struggles this season. Here are some highlights:

On what Maurice Jones-Drew will do against the Cowboys:

Well, the Cowboys allowed two backs to rush for more than 75. They have allowed five backs to rush for 75 or more yards in the last four games after allowing just two backs to break that barrier all of last season. Let's go with 80 yards rushing and three or four receptions for another 30 yards.

On the Cowboys drafting Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck with a high first round draft pick:

I think the Cowboys should not use a top pick on a quarterback. They can win with Romo. There are other more pressing needs. The offensive line, safety and linebacker leap to mind.

On how many of the existing offensive linemen will start next year:

I can see Doug Free at left tackle and Andre Gurode at center next season. If Kyle Kosier is healthy he's solid. But it appears Leonard Davis and Marc Colombo are breaking down. As for (Sam) Young, I think you will see him worked into a series here and there and maybe get some extended time at the end of the season.

On there being something behind the scenes that is keeping Tashard Choice from playing:

There is nothing going on behind the scenes. He is not being punished for his fumble in the loss to Washington to open the season. What's happened is the Cowboys have been ineffective in the running game. In an effort to get on track, they decided its best to give the ball to their top two backs rather than try to get all three of them touches. That being said, Marion Barber and Felix Jones haven't done much with those additional carries. I know everyone like to pile on Barber, but I don't think Jones has been all that good this season, either. If the struggles on the ground continue, the Cowboys should give Choice a chance.

On Wade Phillips keeping his job if the Cowboys go 6-4 without Tony Romo:

You might be right. If Jones is convinced that Phillips has helped right the ship with Romo out, given the uncertainty moving forward, it might persuade him to stay the course. That would require getting in Jerry's head. That's a scary place to be.

On who he sees as the next Cowboys coach:

People dismiss Cowher saying he could never work in this structure. People said the same about Parcells. I think Cowher is a long shot. But if Jones is convinced this team needs a more forceful figure as head coach after Phillips, he will make concessions. Again, I think it's a little early to get into this. And I will point out that Jason Garrett shouldn't be ruled out, even though he would be a tough sell now. But if John Fox doesn't survive in Carolina, he would be a good option.

Jerry needs to learn that his way just doesn't work.

I don't know why he went back to it after Parcells left.
