Montrae Holland likely done with biceps injury

Posted by Michael David Smith on December 26, 2011, 11:49 AM EST

Montrae Holland has started 10 straight games at guard for the Cowboys, but he’s likely to miss the final game of the regular season and, if the Cowboys win, the playoffs.

Holland suffered a partially torn left biceps in Saturday’s loss to Philadelphia, ESPNDallas.com reports. He’s undergoing further tests today, but it doesn’t sound good.

If Holland is done, the Cowboys would choose between undrafted rookie Kevin Kowalski, who filled in for Holland at the end of the game against the Eagles, or Derrick Dockery, who started one game for the Cowboys this season and suffered a knee injury in that one.

Either way, the Cowboys’ offensive line will be operating at less than 100 percent as it attempts to protect an already banged-up Tony Romo against the Giants.

Team likes Kevin Kowalski a lot. Good power and not afraid to mix it up.

Kowalski might not have the size the cowboys need up front to challenge the giants. Dockery could be a better choice.

Montrae holland is on ir.

Jerry just said dockery will start.

Said they had a lot of confidence in him.......even though Jerry couldn't remember his name. So look for that to to be a story espn 1033

Sean lee is ok they will watch him during the week in practice. Same on Felix.

Said both should go.

I guess I can stop wishing that Jerry will stop talking about the roster during the season now.

I have a lot of confidence in Dockery.

I certainly have as much confidence in Dockery as Holland.

should be interesting. We have been running that toss play really effectively, that has become our best running play and I think that is because we have two guards that have been moving well.

Kowalski can move but the idea of tuck or paul lined up over him on third down is beyond scary.

I wonder if we try and power run more with dockery. If dockery gets his hands on osi or tuck across from him he might be ok.

We just need them to give romo enough time to make some vertical throws.
