18. Dallas Cowboys: Jonathan Cooper, G, North Carolina
The Dallas Cowboys have needs but one of the biggest issues is their run game and interior offensive line. Jonathan Cooper should be able to help with this immediately.
51. Dallas Cowboys: Tavon Austin, WR, WVU
The Cowboys have a lot of money invested in Wide Receivers at this point but Austin gives them a new dimension.
82 Dallas Cowboys John Simon, DE, Ohio State
114 Dallas Cowboys Duke Williams, S, Nevada
146 Dallas Cowboys Matt Scott, QB, Arizona
178 Dallas Cowboys Zac Stacy, RB, Vanderbilt

18 Dallas Datone Jones UCLA DE Height 6'4" Weight: 280
Although the NFL has devolved into a padded version of 7-on-7, what my old football coach stated still applies today: "I've yet to see a QB complete a pass from the seat of his pants!" Dallas recorded only 34 sacks in 2012 (ranking 20th in the NFL) and 25 of those came from DeMarcus Ware (14, 31 years of age to start next season and recovering from shoulder surgery) and Anthony Spencer (11 and UFA status). The decision has been made to convert from the 3-4 alignment to the 4-3 "Tampa 2", due to the lack of turnovers (Dallas recorded only 7 interceptions in 2012, tied for last in the league with Kansas City) and according to ProFootballFocus, the pass coverage was a dismal -12.6. Datone Jones recorded 57 tackles, 19 for losses and 6.5 sacks for the Bruins in 2012 to earn All-Conference Honors; however, he was even more impressive during Senior Bowl week as no one (not even Eric Fisher) could consistently block him, flashing quickness not normally seen from a 280 lb man.
47 Dallas Barrett Jones Alabama C Height: 6'4" Weight:312
In 2012, Dallas tried 5 different players at center with limited results; now a revolving door may help a building control its environment, but it creates catastrophic results for an NFL team at the 2nd most important position on the offensive line. The center is responsible for making the pre-snap line calls, recognizing fronts and potential blitzes and stunts: according to ProFootballFocus, the Cowboys' team ranking in pass protection was a dismal -14.7 (and would have been even worse if not for Tony Romo's Houdini skills). HC Jason Garrett has a close relationship with 'Bama HC Nick Saban and no doubt appreciates how his players are well-coached and prepared for the NFL. Barrett Jones has played every position on the 'Bama offensive line during his career: that should qualify him to make line calls, doncha think? The #1 ranked center in this year's draft class played the BCS Championship game with torn ligaments in his left foot (one tough hombre) but should totally recover from surgery and is excellent value in the 2nd round.
80 Dallas Stepfan Taylor Stanford RB Height:5'11" Weight:210
111 Dallas Menelik Watson Florida State OT Height:6'5" Weight:320
144 Dallas Darius Slay Mississippi State CB Height: 6'1" Weight:190
175 Dallas DeVonte Holloman South Carolina OLB Height:6'2" Weight:241

Dallas Cowboys: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
The Cowboys need personnel for Monte Kiffin's 4-3 defense. Defensive tackle was already a priority, but now it has to be considered the top need after Jay Ratliff idiotically was arrested for a DWI. You'd think he would have known better after Josh Brent killed a teammate of his in a December drunk driving accident, but Ratliff apparently has no brain cells. There's a good chance he'll be released this offseason. I don't know how Jerry Jones can keep him. First of all, it's a terrible PR move to do so, and second, Ratliff has been very sluggish since signing a $48 million contract in September of 2011.

Even if Ratliff isn't let go, the Cowboys are expected to draft Sharrif Floyd or Sheldon Richardson if either are available at No. 18 overall

Dallas Cowboys: Eric Reid, S, LSU
I've learned that the Cowboys are interested in Eric Reid. He makes sense for them, as the safety position was a major weak point after Barry Church tore his Achilles' tendon. Church was extended prior to the injury, but he's owed less than $1 million next year, so that won't prevent Dallas from picking a safety early.
Dallas Cowboys: Alvin Bailey, G, Arkansas
The interior of Dallas' offensive line is an abomination. The front office found two downgrades at guard last offseason. Hopefully it finds better players this time around.
Dallas Cowboys: Devin Taylor, DE, South Carolina
Anthony Spencer said he would love to play the defensive end position across from DeMarcus Ware, but that's probably not going to happen because Dallas doesn't have the cap space to re-sign him.

even a 2014 mock

20. Dallas Cowboys: Scott Crichton, DE, Oregon State
The Cowboys could use a young defensive end who fits the Tampa 2, especially if Anthony Spencer isn't re-signed.

Crichton had an impressive sophomore season with nine sacks, 17 tackles for a loss, 44 tackles and a forced fumble. The 6-foot-3, 263-pounder has displayed some natural pass-rushing and play-making ability over the last two years. He had six sacks, 14.5 tackles for a loss, six forced fumbles and 74 tackles as a redshirt freshman in 2011.

Not a bad draft minus the Matt Scott pick
