A blimp-like aircraft emblazoned with an "America Needs Romney" message made an emergency landing near a Davie park this evening, much to the joy of many voters in Broward County, one of the most-liberal places in Florida.

There were no injuries, Davie police said. Except, perhaps, for Republican pride.

As the blimp went down, Twitter lit up.

"Just saw a blimp falling out of the sky. It says America needs Romney... Yeah right! You can't even keep your blimp in the sky," @swadedarling tweeted an hour ago.

"A blimp with a pic of Mitty that says 'America needs Romney' just went down in Davie, Fl. Could that be a predicament of what's to come?" resident Carime Hernandez tweeted.

It's unclear if the blimp was chartered by the Romney campaign or one of the groups that support him. Davie police confirmed the aircraft, which is technically not a true blimp, was advertising on Romney's behalf and did make an emergency landing.

Earlier, WPLG Channel 10 News (which displayed the picture above) reported about how the blimp was "turning heads" in Miami-Dade and Broward. "Flying high in the polls," the story said, "Mitt Romney was also flying high over the streets of South Florida Friday morning."

By Sunday, it was grounded.

I'm laughing so hard at you falling for popular vote polls.

They are about as relevant as a duck fart. Is this your first time hearing about the electoral college?

I'm looking at battle ground states.
Without tossups, Romney has a 5 point lead in the electoral college.

Hes gaining everyday, which means your boy is slipping everyday.

You did the same thing with the VP debate and the 2nd presidential debate. You celebrated a huge victory, only to watch everyone else say different.

If this trend continues, not only will Romney win, he'll win going away.

Romney would have to fall on his face tonight, and there would have to be a devastating October surprise in Obama's favor.

You're high?

Obama has an almost 40 vote lead in the electoral college the way it breaks down now which gives him great odds at winning. He will have to die to lose.

The media wants you to think it's a close race, which is why they keep emphasizing the popular vote and you keep falling for it. Yeah the popular vote will probably be close. The electoral will not.

With tossups not distributed, Romney is up 206-201.

Where do you get a 40 point lead?

Oh, you're assuming a tossup state automatically goes to the incumbent.

Romney is taking Florida, Colorado, New Hampshire, and Virginia. That leaves him 7 votes shy.

The only hope you have is that, like I said earlier, Romney falls flat these last few weeks. If this slow climb continues, Im betting he wins Ohio.

201 Obama vs 206 Romney, 130 undecided. OF the undecided, I think Virginia, Florida, and Wisconsin are going Romney, that would put Romney at 258. Leaving him needing to get 12 votes out of the 78 from Nevada, Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Pennslyvania, and New hamshire.
The way things are polling now Obama has a pretty decent lead in Wisconsin so not sure why you're assuming they go to Romney? Virginia is a tossup. So is Colorado weirdly. The only other states where it's still pretty close (under 2% leads for Obama) are Ohio, New Hampshire and Iowa.

Could still move either way but right now is looking pretty good for Obama.

This late in the game, All Romney has to do tonight is put Obama on trial for the Libya coverup, and talk about china cheating like he likes to do.

Obama would have to make a huge move tonight. I don't see him being any better than last week. That's not gunna cut it.

oh god I hope so.

We need another "Please proceed, Governor" moment. Where Obama just BEGS him to open the door and then shits all over his face when he does.
