IRVING, Texas -- Miles Austin will miss his second straight game Sunday vs. Detroit because of a hamstring injury but he was tempted to play with the bye week coming up.
“I would like to be out there,” Austin said, “but we’re just being pretty cautious about it and that way I’m full go for after.”
The medical decision trumped the football decision to sit Austin for the Lions’ game even with the inconsistent performance of the wide receivers Monday against Washington.
If the Cowboys had a game Oct. 9, Austin said he would play.
“I’m excited to get back out there to get back on the field with my teammates,” Austin said.
