Miles Austin, Mike Jenkins shoot for Dec. 4 return
November, 24, 2011

By Todd Archer
ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Cowboys do not play again until Dec. 4 at Arizona, and Miles Austin and Mike Jenkins are aiming to make their return from hamstring injuries against the Cardinals.

Jenkins hurt his hamstring at Philadelphia on Oct. 30 and has missed the last four games. Austin has missed the last three games after suffering his injury Nov. 6 against Seattle.

“I’m trying to be back as soon as possible, and that would be as soon as possible,” Austin said.

Said Jenkins, “I want to show the trainers that I can get out there this week. I think I’ve been doing a god job. It’s progressing. We’ve got a big break here, 10 days or so, so we’re just going to try to capitalize with those days and get back on the field.”

Austin said he has been doing some striding the last few days and Jenkins went through a pregame warmup Thursday on his own.

“I feel like I’ll be back next week, so I wanted to get game routine back in,” Jenkins said.

Austin missed two games earlier in the season with an injured left hamstring. He is rehabbing from a right hamstring injury this time.

“I’m striding now but it’s different when you’re actually running with someone on you and getting off the ball,” Austin said. “It’s a different tempo. I’m feeling better and stronger every day.”

Austin and Jenkins will continue their rehab over the weekend even though the players are off.

I'd let them sit vs Arizona. We shouldn't need them.

Get them back healthy and ready for that monster 12/11 clash vs New York.

With each game thats goes by without them, they are missed even more.

I hope they can both be 100% for Arizona but if they arnt, I'd do what Mid suggests and hold them out till NYG. I wouldnt let either of them play in the Arizona game if they arnt 100% or very close.

I would sit austin, but no way I sit jenkins. Unless Larry Fitzgerald decides to retire and become a monk over the next ten days.

Agreed. let them rest up and be a 100%. We really need Jenkins back because our secondary is struggling without him.

Austin on the other hand is just adding another weapon to our arsenal. With him it opens up so many more options.

Arizona won't roll over and die either. They'll play their asses off. Expect another close game guys.

Of course.

That will be the game they get kolb back. They are pretty balanced. I expect a similar game as the last two we have to find a way to win in the end.

They beat us last year with John Skelton.....so no reason to think they ca it beat us again...good motivation for us to go back and correct that game.

The giants game is perfect timing for us.....we hate them and the team is always fired up and sharp when we play them. Getting them at home at the start of the critical stretch is perfect I think.
