Miles Austin had the same amount of penalties as catches on Sunday: Two.

Austin finished with just two catches for 12 yards, averaging eight yards a reception. It's the first time this season he's averaged fewer than 10 yards per catch.

While his two penalties were critical they could be considered the right calls.

The first one came after a Roy E. Williams15-yard touchdown reception that gave the Cowboys the first lead of the game. After the score, Austin jumped over Williams' head, (leap-frogging) drawing a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Coach Wade Phillips couldn't believe it.

But here's what the NFL rulebook says when to penalized someone on unsportsmanlike conduct regarding excessive celebrations.

Section 3.

(e) Two-or-more players engage in prolonged, excessive, premeditated, or choreographed
celebrations.

The Austin leap was deemed choreographed by the officials.

"We need to celebrate after we win a game, that's when we need to celebrate," Phillips said. "That's what we're going to try to do."

After a Dez Bryant touchdown reception, his first as a pro, in the fourth quarter, Austin shook Bryant's hand in the end zone.

Austin's second penalty came in the second quarter which negated his own 68 yard touchdown reception. Austin pushed off Vikings cornerback Asher Allen to free himself to catch a pass from Tony Romo.

While it should be noted that receivers and cornerbacks battle for position all the time, when Austin pushed off, Allen fell down, forcing a penalty.
