IRVING, Texas -- The bye week afforded the Cowboys an opportunity to get healed.
Miles Austin (hamstring), Dez Bryant (thigh), David Buehler (groin), Barry Church (shoulder) and Kyle Kosier (foot), among others, practiced Monday as nagging injuries begin to heal.
Then there's Mike Jenkins. The starting cornerback didn't play in the preseason with a stinger, hurt his knee and shoulder in the regular season and has been sore the first month.
So what did the bye week do for Jenkins?
"Physically, I feel better," he said. "It's probably a mental thing being I took a couple of days off, no contact."
It's expected when the Cowboys take on the Patriots on Sunday afternoon, they will have the projected starting cornerbacks on the field in Terence Newman and Jenkins. Also, Orlando Scandrick, who started in place of an injured Newman, should return from a high ankle sprain.
The Cowboys could employ three corners on the field against the Patriots because they like to spread the field with three receivers.
