IRVING, Texas -- The Eagles are tied for first place in the NFC East with the New York Giants at 8-4.

Some NFL experts believe the Eagles might be one of the best teams in the conference. But as their first meeting of the season against the Cowboys approaches, there is that reminder of what happened to them last year.

The Eagles, despite making the postseason, lost two regular-season games to the Cowboys and the NFC wild card game. In that last regular-season game, the Cowboys dominated the Eagles with a 24-0 win and in the wild card game followed things up with a 34-14 decision.

Quarterback Michael Vick, who was a backup to then-starter Donovan McNabb remembers the three losses to the Cowboys and how painful they were.

It would seem the Eagles, with the NFL's top-ranked offense and 12th-best defense, are playing with some incentive Sunday night.

"If you can't get motivated by that then I don’t know what will motivate you," Vick said Wednesday. "I wasn’t even on the field playing and it hurt me deeply, so I can imagine what the guys who were out there are feeling now. You know it’s not a get-back game, it's a game we've just got to come back out and win."

If we beat the Eagles at home Sunday night, I will be convinced we have our next head coach.

Think about it, We are 3-1 under JG, just one loss by the Saints in which we lost it ourselves. And two impressive wins on the road.

I think a 6-10 record will seal it, but even if we go 5-11 I believe it will be enough for Jerry to hire JG.

So, we have a lot to play for too, Jason Garrett.

Howard Eskin, probably the biggest douchebag local sports personality in Philly, says the Eagles will sweep Dallas. His reasoning is that they have a couple extra days to prepare for this game and Reid is real good with extra preparation time. And then the 2nd game is the season finale and he thinks we'll already have our bags packed.

I think he's got a good point. So if we do lose both games, I wouldn't be too critical of Garrett. I think the situations favor the Eagles.

I do expect wins over the Cardinals and Redskins though.

I think Dallas loses Sunday. I have no confidence in the defense to stop a hot egals team. If they do, I will GLADLY be wrong.

I don't think JG should be judged by wins or losses IMO. I think he should be evaluated by the teams play in each game. Are the players buying into his way? Are they fading? Shit like that. Sure the W' and L's matter, but, it wouldn't be my first thing I would look at.

And Maclin is becoming a force. Jackson is a guy who can be shut down, but, who on Dallas is gonna do that? And last year was MCFLABB back there. Not a streakin Vick.

The egals haven't regressed like the Cowboys have done.

I believe we play this one tight and still lose by 10...they will get a late TD put the nail in the coffin...There will be alot of big plays both ways IMO a good deal of points...
