I just couldn't get into the "greek" bullshit in undergrad. Seemed like you're basically paying for a subscription of text notifications that tell you where the current night's party was at. Well, that and a bunch of other bullshit like required study hours, campus involvement and other shit nobody is really interested in.

I'm sure it was a great time for those involved but at 18 years old I wasn't looking for more supervision and having my life scheduled for me in exchange for a big ass house to throw parties. Oh yeah, have fun cleaning that shit up in the morning.

The only plus I could see is that you have an earlier crack at some of these sorority girls looking to branch out because of the greek involvement where multiple houses get together and do shit right as the semester kicks off.

Most of the kids I know who joined frats or sororities were pissed off at one time or another for the restrictions they had to endure while going through the process of proving one's worth or by having to attend lame ass events that they weren't interested in when more entertaining shit was going on.

Never understood the appeal, either. Maybe the goal is networking opportunities later in life.

my cousin was big on it in college at USC, it was a huge status symbol for him. I would come and play football for their team and they were all spoiled douches. Of course, that was just one frat. The sorority chicks were hot but were also all about status. Once they knew I was a lowly FedEx driver, I couldn't get the time of day.
