Taken off CZ:

The Cowboys will take a defensive player...

'I hope I'm not giving away any secrets here, but the Cowboys like Prince Amukamara.' He said that no one has spoken of it directly, but 'seeing the gleam in their eyes' when then talk about Prince that he's fairly convinced that this will be our pick.

My hope here is that Jerry is so fixated on 'OMG must start now!' that Amukamara just doesn't fit.

Unless he plans on releasing Terence Newman.

If Newman's still here and you draft Prince....what do you do with him in the ever important first year? Have him battle it out with Orlando Scandrick at nickel?

Genius Jerry will convert him back to his high school position RB. He does know better than the rest of the football world.

Watching a piece on NFLN right now. It's Irvin working with a few WRs along with Mooch.

Irvin could be my WR coach any day.

No way this happens. I simply refuse to believe it.

I got a feeling that we are going to be pissed about this draft. But at the same time you have to wonder if why would anybody in the FO give out info on their plans when they know people like Mosely or Irvin are going out to tell the media?

I will try my best not to be pissed or disappointed by this draft.

I was pissed at Parcells 2004 draft (specifically, passing on SJ), but I eventually convinced myself to trust in BP.

If this draft doesn't unfold how I'd like for it to, I'll convince myself to trust in Garrett/Ryan.

As I mentioned in another thread, its hard to hate a draft the weekend that it actually happens unless you've just watched them do something amazingly stupid (ie, like 1995 for instance)

Its takes 2-3 years with most classes before you know what you really have. Sometimes picks you may not have liked or thought nothing of develop into quality players, and sometimes players you originally thought were quality picks turn into flops.

Oh, I agree 100%.

But knee-jerk reactions are the best.

Obviously you have to wait a few years to get the true quality of the class but I think I follow the draft close enough to have an opinion when the picks are made. I'm not going to be indifferent about it.

If I have opinions going in, I certainly will have them coming out.

I'm sure we'll all have opinions on what happens, we do every year.

I tend to not get overly excited or deflated about it though as I know it takes time to pan out. There's been some years I've been more pumped than others but for the most part I tend to be pretty level headed about what we do initially. 1995, 1996, 2000 and 2001 were examples of being pretty deflated however.

I think just about every team and its fans should be excited or at least somewhat happy right after the picks are made, kinda like almost every team's fans have excitement on the opening weekend of the season when everyone is 0-0

In the end that's all you can do. Have to admit that Garrett's bearing makes it easy to trust in him.
