From his chat today....

Zach (Dallas)
How does aj green compare to dez Bryant?

Mel Kiper (1:57 PM)
I like AJ Green better. Bryant kind of paced himself. He didn't go out there and maximize his abilities. He had the four-game suspension. He (Green) was a highly acclaimed player in high school. He has great height. Very vertical. Great hands. He's my third highest rated player. I have him as my third highest rated player.

I'm wondering if anyone will agree with him.

He will get drafted higher and he's going to be pretty good. I'd still take Dez Bryant over any young WR not named Calvin Johnson.

Green is more of a burner, but as mentioned, we got a game changer at #24. Value can not be underestimated.

Seems like everybody's throwing up the white flag to A.J. Green's superior talent.

I'm not ready to say the Cowboys were lucky to get Dez. His head still scares me. I think he's mental midget.

Potentially, could be great. But there's also the potential for it to blow up in our face with another headcase in the locker room.

I've read Mel's opinions on Bryant a few times. He doesn't seem impressed by him at all. Green may be a better WR than Bryant coming out of college, but we already know Dez can play and play at a high level in the pros. Let's see what Green can do at the next level.

Thats true. Mel seems to have the hate for Dezzy.

I wouldn't say Mel doesn't like Dez. He had him 11th overall on his board in the Blue Bible. Had him going 7th to Cleveland in his mock.

I think he just sees Green as a more consistent player with better speed.

I certainly give Green the speed edge. The dude can fly. Dez probably has the better hands, and is more physical.

Probably comparing apples to apples. Both should be outstanding pro players.

Both are all world talents.

Dez has the character concerns.

If I took Irvin it would only be because of his leadership skills.

Sorry. Don't see that with a mental midget like Dez Bryant.

I don't see how Mel can make an accurate comparison considering Dez didn't have the benefit of playing his final year.

I do know that Green will be hard pressed to out perform Dez's rookie year. Not in general stats, but in big plays made and overall presence. Bryant was our most feared offensive weapon as the season was coming to a close.

And you know what, I love SEC guys, but if a GM drafted Green, and called to offer a trade for Dez straight up, I'd decline. JMO.

Bryant is special. I'm all homered out on him.

Maybe ESPN just isn't sold on Dez yet. On NFL Live yesterday Hasselbeck and Schlereth were asked which rookie WR from last year had the brightest future....
(After teasing with Dez highlights)

Tim Hasselbeck picked Mike Williams--Bucs

Mark Schlereth picked Jacoby Ford--Raiders

I would consider Matt Millen over these morons as a GM.
