A couple of days ago, we addressed the possibility of the Cowboys replacing quarterback Tony Romo. Not so much this year, but finding his replacement in the next two or three years.
Well, NFL draft expert Mel Kiper looks at a few quarterbacks who might be worth getting rid of in a few years. It's part of the ESPN Insider service, but you should get it, it's worth it. Kiper ranks the urgency level for replacing Romo at 6. Lower than Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Drew Brees.
Here's a little of what Kiper said about Romo:
Of course Romo, is one of the best quarterbacks in the league,. But he's missed 13 games due to injury since 2006, including 10 last year due to the broken collarbone. However, both plays on which he was injured were when he was standing in the pocket, not running around the pocket.
As Romo gets older, the urgency in the quest to win a title becomes greater, and whether he can withstand the pressure is uncertain.

- Romo will be 31 on April 21, so I don't see this as much of a need, but you get a sense that Dallas has some durability concerns, not merely because Romo is coming off an injury, but because of the way he extends plays and is willing to hang onto the ball so long before he gets rid of it.
