I know how much you guys love the insider stuff so here goes.

I was at the AFCA convention in San Antonio a few weeks ago. After the session with David Shaw, we were walking out and I saw I was standing next to some of the Florida State coaches. I saw Mario Edwards and started asking him about Ramsey. Now, first off, anytime you ask a coach about a player you are going to get all sunshine and rainbows. With the exception of the Minnesota defensive coordinator a few years ago telling me that Ra'shede Hageman takes off too many plays, they always say their guy is amazing. The Louisville secondary coach told me Gerod Holliman has no tackling issues at the 2015 convention.

That being said, Mario said Ramsey is an elite player that won't get out of the top 5 picks. He said the defense could line him up anywhere, slot, safety, on an island, and he would lockdown a player. I asked him why he didn't have a lot of plays on the ball and he said that teams game planned away from Ramsey last year. He said to look at how little Ramsey was targeted. Again, I've learned that these guys are going to hype their guys, so take it for what it is worth.

Thats certainly possible, but what about the other seasons? He didnt exactly make many plays then either, and as I mentioned FSU's DB's have been pretty stacked for several years now. Teams cant avoid everyone.

I think I'd go with Byron Jones at FS and draft one of these other 2nd/3rd round guys to play SS, or maybe spend some dollars on a proven safety in free agency and just outright cut Barry Church.

teams targeted Ramsey before he made his rep and he did not make plays. No reason to think he will now. To be blunt lockdown CB's are not as important as they once were. CB's that get turnovers are more important now.

Tunsil to me is the safest pick in this draft. If you are going to use a top 5 pick anyway.

The 2 Super Bowl teams have 4 very good-to-elite CB's between them.

Carolina - Josh Norman
Denver - Chris Harris, Aqib Talib, and Courtney Roby
