I'm kind of glad we're struggling, and still winning now.

It's clearly better than struggling and losing.... but I also think it's better than playing lights out, or peaking right now.

That was my thought after the Bills game - that we were peaking. And it's hard to maintain that for an extended period of time.

You see it almost every year where some team gets hot in December and make a run in the post season. The Steelers have done it a number of times, winning the SB in the process. The Giants did it in 2007 and we saw how thier season ended. And there are more examples.

Now, I'm not saying that we're going to win the Super Bowl. He'll, we're still struggling, and there's no guarantee we're going to get hot or start peaking at all.

But in a few weeks we're going to get our best cornerback, and our 2nd best receiver (Dez4lyfebitches), and hopefully our FB back. If we can avoid notable further injuries.... we could turn this thing around and make some noise.

But, then again, maybe I'm just being an overly optomistic homer.

I'll add that the team that looks dominant the majority of the season doesn't always win the SB, obviously. 2009 Saints did. But we've seen the Colts fall short several times. The 2007 Patriots are an obvious example. 1998 Vikings as well.

As long as we keep winning. Getting Austin and Jenkins back will be huge. Losing fiametta and kitna for the year could also be huge.

A far as struggling per se the last two games. Washington always plays there best game of the year at home against us and that Miami team is way better than there record and they have a complicated defensive scheme with talented players.

Getting these wins was huge.

I also think the defense will improve with Jenkins. I think Ryan has been afraid to really come after guys because you end up leaving ball and or walker alone down the field and that has hurt. With Jenkins back scandrick can concentrate on playing the slot and ball and walker go back to role players.

I am expecting the team to play well at Arizona and then we usually get our biggest emotional effort against the giants....seeing that they trash talked us already...we should be ready to bury them

That's the way I feel lately. A win is a win anyway you slice it. Yes this team needs improvement but we're winning games and in first place. We control our own destiny.

Hopefully Jason can give this team a nice inspirational speech for each of the next 5 games and how important it is to win in December.

I'm with Midswat call me a homer from now on as well. I'm just thankful we won yesterday. Oh, and Dan Bailey is money.

Jerry mentioned it. It was up on ESPN as well. I think Laufenberg mentioned it in the pregame too.

Cowboys' FB, backup QB could be out for season

By Tim MacMahon
ARLINGTON, Texas – The Cowboys are concerned that their fullback and backup quarterback won’t be able to play again this season.

Owner/general manager Jerry Jones acknowledged after Thursday’s 20-19 win over the Dolphins that he was uncertain whether Jon Kitna (back) and Tony Fiammetta (undetermined illness) would be able to recover from their ailments before the end of the season.

“We just don’t know, and that is all we know, that we don’t,” Jones said. “Both of those guys are not definitive in any way medically.”

The Cowboys’ medical staff has still not been able to determine the origin of the illness that has sidelined Fiammetta the last two games, Jones said. Head coach Jason Garrett described the primary symptom this week as nausea when Fiammetta exercised.

The running game has suffered without Fiammetta, a ferocious lead blocker. The Cowboys average 145.8 rushing yards per game and 5.6 per carry when Fiammetta plays. Those averages fall to 85.6 yards per game and 3.2 yards per carry when Fiammetta is inactive.

Kitna has also been inactive the last two games because of a sore back that has not responded to treatment. Jones said Kitna’s condition was one of the primary reasons the Cowboys tried to claim quarterback Kyle Orton off of waivers this week.

Shit. Fiametta is a huge loss.

This sucks.

I don't care about Kitna, because if Romo goes down, we're done anyway.

Yep. Who would have known how important he was going to be to our running game at the beginning of the year when we were signing/cutting/signing him. His loss will hurt. Hopefully, he can make it back.

My sentiments exactly. You beat me to it in posting it.

Not knowing Fiammetta's status for next year will only encourage the Cowboys more to find a good blocking fullback in next years draft.

And some of us thought the tight end would play a major role in our run game.
