Matchup between Cowboys' Miles Austin and Eagles' Nnamdi Asomugha one to watch

In this age of the NFL , receivers move from one side to another depending on the formation. But at some point Cowboys receiver Miles Austin will face off against Nnamdi Asomugha.

Billed as a shut-down cornerback, Asomugha was perhaps the most coveted free agent last offseason and signed a $60 million contract with the Eagles. But Asomugha, who plays on the right side, has struggled this year. Of the 14 passes thrown his direction, eight have been completed for 164 yards and a touchdown

Now, Asomugha faces a player who has torched him in the past. Two years ago, when Asomugha played for Oakland, Austin caught seven passes for 145 yards and a touchdown in a 24-7 victory over the Raiders. It was an impressive performance by Austin, who is off to a fast start this season after collecting 23 catches, 323 receiving yards and four touchdowns in four games. He will try to add to those totals against a player whom he's beaten in the past.

Anyone who bought into the Asomugha hype machine (looking at you, Jerry) is a dumbass. Look at his stats the last couple years in Oakland. People were saying he's like Revis, where opposing QBs just would not throw towards him, but in actuality, his play was declining, and he has been a media-driven reality star since then. Romo will expose him. Romo fears no one.

Still a Nnamdi fan. He is more solid, less spectacular than Revis. Always nice to see any Philadelphia Eagle fail though.

Interesting that you would say this, considering you've predicted the Eagles would win 44-6.

Dude, do you really think Dallas will lose by that score. I'm fucking around! Don't take things too serious. And yes, Austin could light him up and the cowboys could still lose.

I know. I was just giving you shit. We held the Patriots to 13 points in the 4th quarter. I don't see the Eagles putting 44 on us, and us just 6.

I was never into signing Asomugha because he's already 30. Deion didn't last that long and we signed him when he was 28. Deion is even built better than Asomugha, and that says a lot.

I hope Miles and Dez make him regret signing with the Eagles every year until he goes somewhere else.
