The Cowboys signed two offensive linemen in free agency for a total of $30 million.
One of them was left guard Nate Livings, who signed a five-year deal worth $18.7 million with a $3.5 million signing bonus.
The 30-year-old Livings started 32 games the last two seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Bengals coach Marvin Lewis gives this scouting report on Livings: "Run blocking, but he became a good pass protector as well. He’s one of the guys who has been a great leader for us."
It's interesting that the Bengals didn't try to re-sign Livings, considering he was full-time starter the last two seasons.
"We had a lot of irons in the fire and I think it just didn’t work out," Lewis said, who added, "Nate is a guy who really earned his opportunity. He came in as an undrafted free agent and is a hard working physical guy who did it the right way."
