IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys starting running back Marion Barber returned to practice Wednesday after missing two weeks with a calf strain, and wide receiver Kevin Ogletree was placed on injured reserve with a toe injury and will miss the rest of the season.
While Barber was sidelined, Felix Jones started and Tashard Choice gained more snaps.
It's not known how much Barber will practice on Wednesday.
Ogletree injured his right big toe on a kickoff return in Sunday's loss to Philadelphia. He caught three passes for 34 yards in his first extended action of the season in place of Dez Bryant, who suffered a fractured right fibula on Feb. 5 at Indianapolis.
The Cowboys promoted receiver Manny Johnson, a seventh round draft pick in 2009 out of Oklahoma, to the active roster. The team also signed receiver Troy Bergeron to replace Johnson on the practice squad.
In other news, starting cornerback Terence Newman (sick), special teams player Jesse Holley, linebackers Sean Lee (shoulder) and Bradie James (knee) were unavailable to practice.
Since becoming the interim coach Jason Garrett has made his team practice in full pads on Wednesdays. But this Wednesday was different. The team practiced in shoulder pads and shorts.
