Maligned former Cowboys tackle Flozell Adams is jubilant and chatty about getting Super Bowl berth with Steelers
It was a talkative and giddy Flozell Adams in the Pittsburgh Steelers locker room on Sunday.
It was definitely a contrast from the grumpy and silent tackle who played 12 seasons for the Cowboys.
But there was super reason for Adams being jubilant and chatty.
Just months after being released by the Cowboys in a move they hoped would take them to the Super Bowl, it will be Adams who will be playing in his first Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium Feb. 6
"It feels fantastic," Adams said. "It's something I have been working on my whole career and I finally made it. It took a long time, better late than never."
Adams moved to right tackle with the Steelers after playing left tackle with the Cowboys. He was part of a strong effort on the ground Sunday against the Jets. Pittsburgh rushed for 166 yards, including 27 carries for 121 yards from running back Rashard Mendenhall.
It was certainly the kind of performance proved that the Cowboys may have been a little hasty in getting rid of Adams last season, especially considering the problems they had on the line in 2010. Adams said he doesn't hold any hard feelings towards the Cowboys but he does admit playing in the Super Bowl in Cowboys Stadium makes it all a little sweeter.
“That’s secondary to getting there, but now that I’m here, it adds something to it,” Adams said. “But that’s of the business. I knew it was going to end there one day. You just have to move on.”
