CARVIS CANDIDA - ATLANTA, GA: Obviously Super Bowl quarterbacks Ben Roethlisberger and Aaron Rodgers have to be put ahead of Tony Romo, who can't be considered a top-five QB at this point. Where does he rank compared to the others in the league?
Nick: I still think he's in that next group of five, somewhere between six and 10. He's probably in that mix with Philip Rivers, Matt Ryan and probably Jay Cutler.
Rob: I wrote this last week: Even if Romo isn't a top-five quarterback, the Cowboys certainly don't have a liability at that position. They can get to a Super Bowl with him under center. Defense is arguably as much of a factor in the success of the Steelers and Packers as their quarterbacks. Romo has to be good, but so does everything around him.
Josh: I think he's somewhere in the top 10 or 12, depending on your taste. And really that's no less than what he has been for a year or two. They can win big with him, especially if everything around him improves. He's going to have to play better than he has in any of these previous playoff runs, but he's capable of that.
RICH SMITH - CARROLLTON, TX: Are Marc Colombo's leg injuries a long-term problem, or are the Cowboys counting on him being 100 percent in 2011?
Nick: I would think his injuries are a big concern for the Cowboys. His play was inconsistent as was his health. His contract isn't horrible so he doesn't have to be cut. But I'd make sure there is a solid replacement option before letting him go.
Rob: He was healthy enough to play last year, or he wouldn't have played. Has wear and tear on his knees robbed him of his effectiveness? That's certainly possible. Regardless, tackle depth is a spot the Cowboys should look at.
Josh: They must be taken into account, but it would also be wrong to blame his struggles entirely on the injuries. As he said after the season finale, you're never going to be perfectly healthy in this game. How you deal with those aches and pains is a big part of what kind of player you are. He's definitely a tough guy, but that's not enough. He's got to play better. If the Cowboys don't think he can, they should figure out another solution. My gut tells me he'll be back, with the coaching staff and front office crossing their fingers.
