IRVING, Texas -- Four days after the overtime loss at Arizona, Tony Romo was not in the mood to talk about the final seconds that led to a missed 49-yard field goal attempt by kicker Dan Bailey.
After a 15-yard pass to Dez Bryant on third and 11 from the Arizona 46, Jason Garrett did not call a timeout to run another play and Romo spiked the ball with seven seconds left even though the team had two timeouts.
The end result was a missed field goal and an avalanche of criticism for Garrett, who defended the approach then and now, and a smidge of criticism for the quarterback, who some felt should have called the time out regardless of the sideline discussions.
“All that stuff was delat with question-wise after the game,” Romo said. “That’s for the media and people to discuss and all that. But we’ve already moved on. The Arizona game feels like two weeks ago at this point. We have to be ready to roll here very soon. Our team has done a great job of playing through adversity, playing through the good stuff that has happened and just getting ready for the next game.”
