(Jeffrey Boan - AP) The Atlanta Falcons traded 4,000 draft picks plus several crates of sports nutrition beverage to trade up and pick Julio Jones. That was stupid, Leonard Hankerson might argue, because he is actually better, and was available in the third round, which would have let the Falcons keep their picks and their beverages.

"Me as a player, I know i’m better than each one of those guys that was drafted before me,” Hankerson said on the Junkies Tuesday morning. “Hey, it’s over with now. I’m a Washington Redskin. I can’t do anything about it. Only thing that matters is what I do after the draft, so I’m looking forward to getting on the field with my new teammates, getting to meet my coaches and just having fun with them and proving [it] to everyone.”

Since this seemed to suggest that Hankerson thought he was better than, for example, Julio Jones, Eric Bickel then asked if Hankerson thought he was better than, for example, Julio Jones.

“Of course, I wouldn’t say anything differently,” Hankerson said. “Of course I think that. I feel I’m the best receiver in the draft, I feel like I can make plays, i can do everything the other players do. I feel like I can block, run routes, go up and get the ball. I make plays. I broke every single season record this year. I feel like I can do it all.”

This sounds like someone who might keep track of how the receivers drafted ahead of him perform, so Hankerson was asked whether he’ll keep track of how the receivers drafted ahead of him perform.

“Of course,” he said. “I want to keep an eye on other teams also, put a hit on each and every team.”

In other Hankerson news, his children seemed to foretell his draft destination. Either that, or they posed for photos in every NFL helmet

The bolded paragraphs got on my nerves. So I bolded them because they got on my nerves.
