One big problem the Cowboys have had, or the perception of it, is a lack of leadership.
But if there's anything we've seen from this team over the last two weeks is the leadership is strong.
There have been workouts across the Dallas/Fort Worth area, whether it's four-to-six players to the 41 who showed up on Wednesday at an undisclosed location, the Cowboys are getting together.
Tony Romo sent out a mass email to the troops asking for them to workout as a team and he's gotten a good response. Better than expected. Was everybody there? No. But that's OK, the fact Romo is reaching out to players, likewise for Keith Brooking, DeMarcus Ware and Jason Witten is a positive sign.
The Cowboys want to forget about their 6-10 season where it got their coach fired and you can talk all you want about that 5-3 finish under Jason Garrett, the bottom line is the Cowboys were not a good football team last year.
It seems the Cowboys' players want to be around each other because they like each other. You could say chemistry is overrated, and that would be fine, but Stephen Jones said the core group of players keeps this team grounded and together.
Moving forward that's a good thing if the Cowboys expect to have a better 2011 season.
