The Dallas Cowboys' addition of linebacker Isaiah Greenhouse on Tuesday attracted minimal attention, which is not surprising. Greenhouse appeared in only two games with Houston as an undrafted rookie free agent last season.

This could be the type of small-piece addition that helps the Cowboys' special teams.

Greenhouse played at Northwestern, La., State. His coach, Bradley Dale Peveto, told the Alexandria, La., Town Talk newspaper. that Greenhouse is a superb special-teams performer.

"I've been a special teams coach since day one, and in my 22 seasons of coaching, I've never seen a player just destroy kickoff return teams like Ike did for us," Peveto said. "He's a one-man wrecking crew.''

The Cowboys need help on the kickoff-coverage unit. It showed late improvement but still finshed 27th in the league, allowing 24.3 yards per return.
