With the season winding down, it’s time to wonder what the future holds for some Cowboys.

Kyle Kosier is one of four players scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason regardless of a new collective bargaining agreement. If the old system is in place for free agency, then Stephen Bowen, Sam Hurd , Doug Free and Jason Hatcher will be unrestricted free agents, too. If the current system continues, then only Alex Barron, Kosier, Gerald Sensabaugh and Marcus Spears will be truly free.

Kosier is in the final year of a five-year, $15 million contract he signed in 2006.

“I would love to be back here, but that’s down the road,” Kosier said. “And we still have [two] games left. We’ll worry about the [two] games first.”

Kosier has missed three games this year with knee and ankle injuries but has performed solidly. Over the term of his contract, he has delivered what was expected if not played better than what was expected. He is not the biggest guard (309 pounds), but he moves well and can play with good leverage.

It could be an offseason of change for the line, but Kosier should be asked back. He turns 33 next November and has suffered injuries in two of the last three seasons, but he has played well enough to bridge the gap over the next few years to a younger player, preferably a draft choice.

I wouldn't mind him being 1 of the 2, maybe 3 OLineman they keep for a year. Can't replace them all in one year. May as well keep the best of the worst.

I wouldn't mind Kosier back. Davis and Colomblow I want gone.

Did anybody see Colombo get spun around like a top? I don't know what is worse: seeing that or Davis while pulling getting blown up and losing his helmet by a guy that he outweighed by 100 lbs.

They don't need to replace them all. Keep Free, Kosier, and Gurode---move him out of the Center position.

All five need to go. The ones that had talent are on the decline. The other two had no talent to begin with.

Five bums. Replace them all ASAP.

Yeah, if you want to scrap the whole thing and start over.

Like you said before it's going to take a couple of years.

We can at least win with some of them. I say next year get rid of Colomblow, Davis, then the following year replace the rest.

I mean if we could draft a LT and a G then we could keep Gurode, Kosier and Free. Then next year find their replacements.

It's not that simple. You don't know what you're gonna get in the draft. It could be a LT. Maybe a RT. Either way, the current starter has to go.

I know homers want to pretend Free is a good RT. Replacing Columbo with Free is a slight upgrade from horrific. Both are bums who have no right to be starting on a good football team.

There are a few keepers on this team. NO ONE on the O-line is part of that scenario.
