Kyle Kosier, the Cowboys' starting left guard since 2006, is an unrestricted free agent and his agent, Kenneth Zuckerman, has opened talks with the team about a new deal.
Zuckerman has also talked to other teams regarding Kosier's services, but no deals have been reached.
Kosier started all 16 games in 2006, 2007 and 2009. But injuries limited his play in 2008 (foot) and last year (knee).
He's considered one of the more valued members of the offensive line and his ability to help center Andre Gurode make the line calls and being part of the development of Doug Free, who played left tackle for the first time last season, are a plus.
In 2009, Kosier received the Ed Block Courage award for returning to the Cowboys after coming back from a broken foot in 2008.
