During a live chat on NFL.com Monday, senior analyst Pat Kirwan answered a question about the possibility of the Cowboys selecting Alabama running back Mark Ingram with the ninth overall pick.

There were a few parameters included as well. Would Ingram be the selection if LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson, Alabama defensive lineman Marcell Dareus and Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley were already off the board?

Kirwan responded by typing: “I would not do that. The process is far from over, but I think there would be some quality RBs available in the second round.”

Kirwan then followed by mentioning a position that may come as a surprise to Cowboys fans.

“You'll have to look at some of the QBs available, as well as some of the solid defensive players,” he wrote. “I like Mark Ingram and I know he's probably got a first-round grade on most boards. But I'm sure you'll get a comparable RB in the second round.”

The Cowboys selecting a quarterback seems highly unlikely, however, at No. 9, they could have the pick of any of these highly rated signal callers: Missouri’s Blaine Gabbert, Auburn’s Cam Newton , Washington’s Jake Locker or Arkansas’ Ryan Mallett.

There would be a cool youtube video of some psycho smashing a 60" HD LCD TV with a lazy boy recliner hitting the internet shortly after the 9th pick is announced.

I want no part of Ingram but if Felix doesn't put up this year I will be all over Ingram's teammate, Trent Richardson, next year.

Kirwan is not wrong all the time,if only by the "even blind squirrels find acorns" rule.

But,he's an idiot,mostly.

It's hard to say what the Cowboys might do at #9,but I'm hoping that they wouldn't even consider taking Ingram,or any of those QBs.
