Two prominent defensive players said they don't think coordinator Rob Ryan should take the fall for the team's defensive struggles, Evan Woodbery of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
The Saints are ranked 31st of 32 teams in overall defense.
Cornerback Keenan Lewis and safety Kenny Vaccaro, who spoke on Monday, are among the players who have vocally supported Ryan throughout the year.
"I want him back," Lewis said. "I'm going to ride with him, one hundred. He's a great coordinator. You just can't blame him when things go wrong. We're the ones out there playing."
Vaccaro wouldn't even entertain the notion of Ryan moving on after the season.
"Rob will be here," Vaccaro told reporters.
