Keith Brooking sued over unpaid loans

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Keith Brooking owes nearly $2 million for loans he has not repaid in Georgia, according to a lawsuit filed in federal court.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Brooking owes Wells Fargo almost $2 million for two loans he received 3 ½ years ago. Wells Fargo alleges that Brooking and his wife Holly have shifted assets to avoid repaying the loan. They owe $1,996,224.73, not including late fees, attorney’s fees and costs, per the lawsuit.
“Upon information and belief, beginning in 2008, K. Brooking realized he would not be able to meet his obligations to his creditors, including Wells Fargo. K. Brooking therefore acted to fraudulently transfer his individual wealth and assets, including, but not limited to, transferring real property located in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina to insiders,” the lawsuit states, according to the AJC.
Brooking’s agent Pat Dye Jr. vehemently denied the charges and stated Brooking and his wife will defend themselves in the lawsuit.
Brooking’s future with the Cowboys remains up in the air. The 36-year-old wants to continue playing but he is a free agent and reports are Dallas will not pursue him.
