Cowboys linebacker Keith Brooking was interviewed recently on KESN-FM (103.3). Here are some higlights.
On the team after win vs Houston: We prepared great that Houston week, we won the game in our preparation on the practice field. I'm a true believer in that and you've got to carry it over to the game. That's extremely important. I've been a part of teams where you prepare great but you don't carry it over to Sunday. We backed that up last week. I felt like last week we had two of our best practices of the year. We are keeping that edge about us as far as far as believing that you have to prepare the right way in order to go out there on Sunday and win.
On the running game & getting Felix Jones the ball more: We have three great backs. Running backs are a very hot commodity in this league and their shelf life extremely low, so to have three healthy guys back there that can carry the load at any time in the season is an asset to our football team. Personally, I believe in all three of those guys as far as if you could split it up and give them all the same amount of carries I think it would be great, but running back is also a position of momentum. You get the feel, you get your carries, you kind of get lathered up, and if you get pulled, you kind of lose that juice a little bit. You've got to keep the guy rolling if he's rolling, and Marion Barber was running well against Houston. I just think it's a good position to be in and you don't need to complicate things too much. I said it would be great to give all of them the same amount of carries, but at the same time I don't think you can look at it that way. You've got to go with the guy that's hot.
