49ers' Colin Kaepernick: 'There's not any concern on this team'

Colin Kaepernick was under constant duress in the first half of the San Francisco 49ers' eventual 19-12 preseason loss to the Denver Broncos Saturday night in Colorado.
He was sacked twice, including by DeMarcus Ware for a safety. Kaepernick completed just 2 of 5 passes for 13 yards and did not complete a pass until there were 38 seconds to go until halftime.
Kaepernick, though, had a positive spin on it, despite his offensive line leaking all game long, with Marcus Martin starting at center and rookie Ian Silberman getting the start at right guard.
“There’s not any concern on this team,” Kaepernick insisted. “That’s what the preseason is for, is to work those things out and see who we have in different positions. So, that’s what we’re doing and we’re working to make sure we’re ready for the regular season.”
Fair enough.
In three preseason games, Kaepernick has completed 5 of 13 passes for 40 yards without a touchdown or interception while getting sacked three times.
But perhaps his best weapon -- his legs -- was needed against the Broncos' pass rush in this dress rehearsal for the regular season. And they served him well.
Kaepernick, in his final series, had breathtaking runs of 19 and 34 yards.
“It always feels good to be in the open field,” he said. “I feel like that’s where I have ability to make some plays. That was an example of our offensive line doing a great job to open up the rushing lane for me. They pushed protection, or the rush, wide which allowed me to step up. That’s why those plays were able to be made.”
