SportsDay columnist Jean-Jacques Taylor answers a reader's questions about a topic of the day.
Question: If Tony Sparano is fired from Miami , do you believe that Jerry Jones would hire him back as an offensive coordinator with Jason Garrett as the head coach since Tony Romo and the offense did so well under his watch?
Wendell Stewart , Dearborn, Mich.
Jean-Jacques Taylor: I’ve actually said all along that one of the best things that could happen for the Cowboys, though I don’t want it for Tony Sparano, is for Miami owner Stephen Ross to make a coaching change. I don’t know that Sparano has had enough success at Miami to immediately get another head coaching job. He could return as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. He would bring toughness and accountability to that unit, and he would be fine as a play-caller because he understands the importance of mixing the running and passing games. Add a couple of former Cowboys coaches currently working for Sparano such as Todd Bowles (secondary) and Kacy Rodgers (defensive line), and this team would be significantly better. Talent is the most important thing, but coaching matters.
