ARLINGTON - The biggest decision for Jason Garrett was whether to let Tony Romo start, even though he has a cracked rib and has practiced sparingly.

Since he's decided to ride with Romo, the next biggest decision Garrett has to make is how much to alter the game plan to compensate for Romo's injury. Washington defensive coordinator Jim Haslett loves to blitz, and common sense says he'll come after Romo even more than usual tonight to see how the quarterback handles the hits.

This would be a good week for Garrett to rely on screens, swing passes and three-step drops even more than usual. The worst case scenario would be for Romo to have to leave a game early because he aggravated the rib injury.

A strong running game for the first time this season would also help Romo. The Cowboys are averaging just 54.5 yards per game and 2.3 yards per carry. They're the only team in the NFL without a run of 10 yards or more.

Ridiculous.

Garrett's done a nice job of making this team maximize its talent. Now, it's time for him put together his best game plan of the season.
