Jimmy Johnson Says He Has a Spot in Ring of Honor
Johnson says Jerry Jones has told him he'll be inducted to the Ring of Honor at some point

Jimmy Johnson, the man who led the Dallas Cowboys to back-to-back Super Bowl victories in the early 90s, says owner and general manager Jerry Jones has told him he will be placed in the Ring of Honor, according to the Dallas Morning News. It’s just a matter of when.

Johnson’s time with the Cowboys came to an abrupt end in early 1994, shortly after the team’s second championship, because he and Jones’ relationship had turned sour. There’s been no public burying of the hatchet in the years since, but Johnson says he and Jerry are fine nowadays.

If he was put in the Ring of Honor, Johnson would be the second head coach to earn the honor and the third non-player. Legendary head coach Tom Landry was inducted in 1993 and longtime front office member Tex Schramm went in back in 2003.

As well he should.

Would love it more if he had a spot in our front office running the FO

Jerry probably won't do it until he wins a SB of his own. :lol

Could you imagine all the praise, hoopla, and attention Jimmy would get? Jerry can't stomach that.

My guess is, after Romo retires in a few years we'll be back to 5-11 seasons and under no circumstances does Jimmy get in then. Not going to happen until Jerry dies or wins a SB.

They wouldn't be able to show Jerry the entire night. He'd get booed out of the stadium.

Is there any other owner that gets that treatment? Paul Brown should but I don't know if they care.
