What do you guys think about this arbitration result?

I'm generally for anything that screws owners and helps players. I understand the concept of the franchise tag, but I think it's kind of shitty the way they do this. If he were on the free agent market he would be getting far more than 1 year for $7 mil. And he can be tagged three times? Seems like these players work their asses off to get to their first free agent contract and can get stuck with one year deals through their prime. Yeah, it's a lot of money, but if he's the best TE in the game and he only gets paid the average of the highest paid 5 TEs in the game, then by definition, he's not getting his market value.

The rest of the players sell their top guys out in labor negotiations in order to get more money in the kity from he owners.

The nba is an extreme example of that.

I think he should definitely hold out. I just think the system sets the best guys up to do that, so I'm not a fan. It's like a mini-strike every year with these guys.

After the arbitrator ruled that Graham was a TE using the fact that Graham identified himself as a TE on facebook/twitter, Jordan Cameron changed his twitter profile to say "pass catcher for the Cleveland Browns." LOL

I was told the lockout happened because the top 10% were only looking out for themselves. The 90% were screwed they said.

He's a TE. He was drafted as a TE and he plays a TE role on the team

Isn't his value more than any other "TE". It's a flawed system bc he's not just "a top TE". He makes their offense go. He is worth a ton to the saints he's the top scorer in the league lately.

He recently accepted the Pro Bowl bid as a TE. He was also named 1st team All Pro TE by the AP. You can't have it both ways.

All true... But the franchise tag artificially holds the market value down for a guy who should be paid more than probably 90% of WRs in the game. The line between those two positions is getting more and more blurred every day.

Didn't the NFLPA agree to that concept though?

If he doesn't like the rule, he should take it up with them. They negotiated that.

Yes, I understand the union collectively bargained this david. That doesn't mean it's right.
