Is there any chance Wade Phillips could be fired next week? "I can give an affirmative no," Jerry said on KRLD.

Jones Strongly Endorses Phillips, Buehler
Posted by rphillips at 9/24/2010 11:34 AM CDT on truebluefanclub.com

Neither item should come as a surprise, but Jerry Jones was asked specifically about Wade Phillips' and David Buehler's job security on his weekly radio show (The Fan 105.3 FM).

"I do believe in Wade and the staff and the players," Jones said. "The thing about it is when you have that kind of commitment one of the No. 1 things you have it for is those situations. Those people are supposed to really be there in hard times. Hard times. That's when you've got to make your best grade if you're deserving of that commitment and we're in hard times. That's why I'm in the saddle with Wade and in the saddle with the staff and the team."

Jerry, what if we're dead by Thanksgiving?

We could be,you know, based on current conditions.

Then what?

I'm as optimistic as anyone,BTW,we're far from dead.

But the Fat Lady is in the building.

I didnt really believe he'd fire him anyway, even if we lose 44-0 this weekend.

But if we dont make a serious postseason run, he wont be employed the day after the season finale.
