With Tony Romo and Sean Lee expected to be out of the lineup Sunday, the Cowboys need their best players to be at their best. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones named DeMarcus Ware, Jason Hatcher, Morris Claiborne, Orlando Scandrick, Brandon Carr, Dez Bryant, DeMarco Murray and Jason Witten among the “key players” the Cowboys need to step up.

"That’s what it’s going to have to be about," Jones told the Star-Telegram on Thursday. "Certainly, we’ve got to have a big game out of [Kyle] Orton if he’s the starter, and then we need those key players on offense, those playmakers – Murray, Witten, Dez, for what matter [Terrance] Williams and [Cole] Beasley – and we need that offensive line to continue to play at the level it’s playing and on defense we need those key players. We need a big game and can get it from Claiborne. Claiborne looked good out there today, and we can get a good game from Claiborne to go along with the games we’ve been getting from Carr and Scandrick."

Jones added that Hatcher and Ware are as ready for Sunday's game as they have been for any game all season. He expects them to have big games.

So much desperation in mentioning Claiborne... "Please let this soft average player I paid so much for make me look good."

So the players have to play well to win. Pure genius. Nice to hear Claiborne feels like playing a little this week.

This is cutting edge material. Tomorrow I heard he'll talk about how you need to put up more points than the other team to win the game.
