Bill Nichols / Reporter

Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones likes what he sees from the Cowboys under interim coach Jason Garrett, but not happy enough to take interim off his title.

He reminded reporters that Garrett was the offensive coordinator under Wade Phillips during Dallas' 1-7 start.

"What is real important that we all understand is that we all were a part of the huge disappointment,'' Jones said. "What you're seeing from me is just a reluctance to get all gunned up over how we're doing when we've had a disappointing year."

"Probably the facts are that it's going to be cast as a disappointing year no matter how well Jason does. We are certainly giving him the opportunity to win over the team, win over the fans, and all of that is a plus.''

Dallas is 3-1 under Garrett. Its only loss was a 30-27 decision to the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints.

"I haven't seen anything that I didn't know about Jason at all,'' Jones said. "He knows how to get turnovers and make big plays. That's the big difference over the last four weeks.''

He might be, but I'm not.

This guy has done one amazing coaching job here.

I like JG, but I still see things that need to be corrected that haven't been so far.

We still struggle on 3rd downs quite a bit on defense. But we seemed to be getting a little better.

Our secondary at times still seemed to get burnt man to man.

I want to see what happens with the rest of the games before I say remove the interim tag. I'm leaning towards JG being our next head coach though, because there is no doubt he's better than Wade was.

Jerry's pissed that Garrett's killing our top 5 draft pick, I'm hoping for at least a top 10 myself....

It still took us 8 plays inside the 10 yard line to score the go ahead TD yesterday. I know our line sucks but you would think a genius playcalling OC would have something up his sleeve to get us into the endzone a little easier.

If Indy doesn't get the leverage penalty we lose this game.

If Peyton was on fire. Dallas gets torched in that game. That fucking defense is horrible for Dallas. But, I agree, while I am warming up to Garrett, brining in an OC I think would still be a good thing.

I'd actually rather hear Jerry say this than his usual ultra-optomistic response . . .

He cant fix everything in a month. It will take some time.

First off, you dont know we would have lost the game.

Second, its pretty apparent that Garrett is trying to change alot of the mentality there. he wants the team to be extremely physical. You can see in some of his playcalling that he wants this team to push people around in short yardage situations. Thats one reason he was so excited about Barber's short td on 4th down vs the Saints. You dont change that mentality by trying finesse plays over and over. I like what he's doing.

Lastly, he called a naked bootleg on 4th and 1 a couple weeks ago, what did you think of that playcall?

I think we would of lost the game as well had not it been for that penalty. I don't know what Dallas Defense you are watching. But, they sucked. The only pick that there was actually a good play by the defense , was Alan Ball's. The other two for pick 6's were gifts from Peyton.

Yeah, yeah I know. "Well, the defense still has to make those plays as well". BS... Peyton, when on, was torching the defense. Not one sack I can recall of. Not many knock downs on a non mobile QB.

they lose that game.

The Rooney Rule still applies so that's perhpas why Jerry has not removed the interim label.

Peyton always had trouble with the Cowboys.

LOL!!! We're 3-1 under Garrett and could easily--rightfully be 4-0, and yet bitches continue to complain because the Cowboys didn't play THE PERFECT GAME. If you going to play that idiotic game of 'IF', well here's one for you. IF... the refs don't call that bullshit holding call on Hurd after Dez's 85-yard KR, then WE STILL would have won the game. That leverage penalty evens it out, as far as I'm concerned, although it was more legit whereas the holding call was bullshit.

So why didnt the Colts win the game on the opening possession of OT then?

As for downplaying those picks, you are out of your mind. Those were excellent plays. Guys are making plays now that werent even close to making the first 8 weeks.

After our TD we allowed the Colts to drive down and score to tie it, which would've been the game winner. Pretty easy to put 2 and 2 together.

Short yardage plays in the redzone have been our bane for a few years now and the situation has not gotten any better. That is the point I was making.

Whose downplaying them? I just stated that for once , a Cowboys player was there for a bad throw by the QB. Hmm, I guess I am downplaying those two. Ball's INT was all him.

Even the sun shines on a dogs ass once in a while, so, they made a play against a struggling Peyton Manning in OT.

And , they should of beat the Saints as well. Where was that "guy" making "a play that they didn't make in the first 8 weeks"? Oh yeah, lookin like a rook biting on a double move getting beat.

This defense sucks, don't kid yourself. And the offense is still suspect. I am glad they won. I love when they win. My blinders have just been off for the past 5 or 6 weeks is all.

UNFUCKING BELIEVABLE. Not too long ago, we were 1-7, and now that we get a few wins under our belts, people like you try to turn your nose up to them because they were not won in Madden-esque fashion. There was a time we weren't getting turnovers but mainly making them. That was a major complaint, and now we are getting them, people still want to complain. A GIFT you say? Sure. That's as lousy an excuse as the one with the Giants overlooking us. Let's see, Manning had already the prior week had 4 INTs, and earlier that day the Jags had won. If the Colts lost to the Cowboys---and they did, that would put them one full game behind the Jags---a team that beat them earlier in the season. There will be no WC coming out of the AFC South, so under those circumstances, I don't think Manning would be giving out too many gifts. And if it was a gift... SO THE FUCK WHAT! We've been giving out "gift" wins pretty much all season: Redskins, Bears, Titans, Vikings, and let's not forget the THANKSGIVING DAY GIFT to the Siants, courtesy of Roy. So it's about time we were on the receiving end of a gift.

And one more time about that penalty crap. If it wasn't for the bullshit holding call against Hurd, that negated Bryant's 85-yard KR, the Cowboys would have still won.

And if Newman could actually play defense and not give up a long gain in the game prior to this one. Cowboys may win. If's. What the fuck is that. If my aunt had balls she would be my damn uncle.

So, I am not confident in this team and especially not confident at all in the Defense. Sue me. I am proud of the team for winning. They just need a shit load of work.

You can walk around with your hard on for them and blinders on. Have at it. I will keep it real on my end.

The gift was from Newman and the "vaunted" defense that can't stop anyone, On Turkey day. Roy didn't help. The defense helped LESS.

Our defense isnt very good this year. There's alot of reasons. Injuries have certainly played a role, as was Wade's extremely predictable scheme on Sundays.

You act like the Saints have never made a big play or been tough to defend for anyone.
