Jerry Jones talked on KRLD-FM. Some highlights:

On Felix Jones: Everyone is in unanimous agreement with the staff, scout and everyone involved that Felix needs to touch the ball more. He's just too much of a threat and that was our intention in pre-season coming out, no matter whether he's getting a chance to be in the running game, but certainly in the passing game as well. I really look for you to see a lot more of Felix Jones.

On why Cowboys passed up on Chris Johnson in the 2008 draft: Well, his speed was the best that we had ever seen for a running back, ever. I must saw that Wade was really on the table, he really liked him. What we didn't necessarily see was his overall skills to have that speed and the balance that he's got as well. What we saw more in Felix, which was more about Felix then it was not about Johnson was an ordinate vision... We liked his vision and we liked his speed and just the type of individual that he was. His college coaches at Arkansas told us that you'd have to shoot him to get him off of the practice field. That work attitude really convinced us that Felix was who we wanted.

In the 2008 draft, the Cowboys used the 22nd overall pick to select Jones over Johnson. More than two years later, Johnson is the NFL's defending rushing champion, while Jones is not even among the top 10 in rushing for the 2008 draft class.

This is a coaching problem not a Felix problem.

Yeah it is, we need to run the football more, but it won't happen unless our offensive line improves.

We are a passing offensive line, yes we can run sometimes, but not like we should be.

That Offensive line is still a bunch of maulers. STICK with the run, that is key. It will change. This o-line is still one of the strongest in the league when it comes to moving piles. It's just not gonna happen on every play, gotta stick with it. I think the RB's need to improve the play as well. Make sure they are hitting the holes quickly, setting up their blocks. And Gurode needs to do a better job defining who is gonna block who.

And last but not least. this fucking O-line needs to bring back a little nasty to themselves.

I'm not a real heavy draftnik like some . . . but if memory serves, it was kind of suprising that the Titans took CJ as early as they did?

The Titans made a great pick . . . but to look back and question why we took FJ over CJ at that position is kind of a reach.

Agreed, at that time most were concerned with why we took Felix over Mendenhall

Johnson was projected to go in the late 1st. All the talk was about bypassing Mendenhall because he was a consensus top 15 projection.

That's the thing about drafting players where they are projected, and when they are drafted doesn't mean shit sometimes.

Fisher actually admitted they wanted Felix Jones, but settled for Johnson after we took Jones.

It was pretty much a concensus that Jones was the higher rated player.

There's no doubt in my mind that Felix has skills, but at this point it makes us look stupid for not going with Johnson.

If Johnson were here, he'd be getting the same carries that Jones has been. If Jones were in TN instead of Johnson, he'd be getting the bulk of the carries and people would be wondering why we passed on Jones.

I'm not so sure about that, they're two different animals.

Not by much, but it's hard to say because Johnson has proven himself and stayed healthy. We've yet to see that in Jones.
