Jerry Jones not sure if Cowboys can win a Super Bowl in the near future, but says: 'I think that I do better the less sure I am about anything'

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones joined the 105.3 The Fan radio show Friday morning and discussed several topics including the Cowboys playing in the Super Bowl and the possibility of a rival team playing for the Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium. Here are some highlights.
On if the playoffs are going to be painful for him:
"Very. Extremely painful. Extremely painful when I have people throughout the league telling me, 'Man, you had five Pro Bowl players.' It's very painful when you feel like you got some good players and had the makings of a team that might do it and didn't do it. ... I just want to make sure that everybody understands that there is no joy here. I'm excited about having Jason as our future coach. ... I think we're fortunate to have some continuity (with) the circumstances that we may be faced with during this off-season. I think we'll play. I don't think we'll have a traditional off-season."
On what makes him so confident that hiring Jason Garrett was the right choice:
"I'm not sure. I'm sorry, I feel like I've made the best decision for the franchise right now. If you're asking me if I'm sure we're going to win a Super Bowl, I'm not. I've said this, I think that I do better the less sure I am about anything. And the facts are that I'm running nervous, which is a good thing, not a negative thing. I'm hungry. I want it real bad. It (bothers) me that we haven't been able to take one of those Lombardi trophies home and as long as it's been. And that's a healthy thing. I'm going to play within the rules, but I'm going to play hard, boy."
On if it would hurt more to see Philadelphia win a Super Bowl in his house or Pittsburgh come in and win its seventh trophy:
"Well, there's no purpose for me to go either way there. It's enough to not have the Cowboys in that Super Bowl out there. But it's going to be, in my mind, an exciting place to play a Super Bowl, so I envy, underline it, I envy any teams that are out there, especially the ones that we play or beat us out to get to represent the NFC."
