Ahem....

Jerry Jones not giving up on Marion Barber

Bill Nichols / Reporter

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has not given up on running back Marion Barber.

"I know certainly he's got critics but I wouldn't go that far in any way to say his time is done with the Cowboys," Jones said on his radio show.

Barber has averaged 3.1 yards per carry while running for 313 yards and three touchdowns. He rushed for 932 yards in 2009, 885 yards in 2008, and 975 yards in 2007.

Jones also praised Felix Jones but was critical of Tashard Choice, saying he needs to perform better on special teams. Choice may get more action on Sunday because of Barber's strained calf muscle.

"Felix gives us an explosive opportunity every time he touches the ball, and I think that weighs to some degree of the critique of Marion," Jones said.

A lot of times Jerry says things, and then does the exact opposite.

He told us time and time again he wouldn't fire Wade mid-season, for example.

Hopefully this is another example of where you really, really, really can't put any stock into what he says.

I really think he's losing his mind, seriously.
