EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he was frustarted with Dallas' 27-24 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday night in the season opener.
"It's just a shame to have lost this ballgame. I'm as exasperated as anybody," Jones said. "We had a good chance to go home with some very big prize and change some expectations and we didn't get out of here with it."
The Cowboys continue to be a woeful fourth-quarter team despite coach Jason Garrett making it a point of emphasis during the preseason to make the Cowboys better closers.
The Cowboys blew a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter, but Jones said he doesn't think the loss will linger going into next week's road game at San Francisco.
"When we come up here with the significance of this ballgame with the nation watching, and then to play well enough to win it and not win it - and that is the key, who wins or loses - then it's real disappointing," Jones said. "I think this team is very capable of stepping back and going to San Francisco and playing well."
