EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Cowboys blew a 14-point fourth-quarter lead, eventually losing to the New York Jets, 27-24, on a Nick Folk 50-yard field goal with 27 seconds left to play in the game.

This was not how coach Jason Garrett figured his team would finish, and the man who signs the checks, team owner Jerry Jones, summed it up easily.

"It's called finishing," Jones said.

Several Cowboys players agreed with what Jones said, especially after what happened in the fourth quarter, where the Jets scored the final 17 points of the game.

"As you can see, it was a tough one," linebacker Bradie James said. "We did some real good things in the game and we didn’t finish, and you got to finish with a team like this. We played a real good team. They played for 60 minutes, we played for 60 minutes. They made one more play than we did. But we got some things we can build on."

I saw you out on the field but I didn't see you playing. As much out of position you were from making plays, you definitely were in position to watch a guy like Sean Lee make them.

this made sense in 07. Learning to finish, learning to beat quality teams in the tight situations.

In 2011, it makes no sense.

This team opened the flood gates to all the nonsense that has surrounded this team for years again. All that goodwill and upbeat feeling around the team is now once again gone. Vanished into thin air because a veteran quarterback isnt smart enough to throw away a ball every high school player knows should be thrown away.

It's brutal watching James out in space. He's like in his own, little world. A very slow one where the action is taking place on one end of the field, and he's jogging around seemingly oblivious to everything on the other.

I thought it was called F'king up. We seemed to have that market cornered.

We didn't play for 60 mins......maybe 45 min with the last 14-15 min spent imploding.

It's mind boggling watching this team reinventing different ways to lose. Hollywood couldn't write a script like the one that unfolded last night and the several we have had to swallow the last few years.

There was some positives last night but how many kicks in the gut must the fan base take before we think anything has changed but the dates on the calender. Good teams find ways to win, bad teams find ways to lose. We more often than not seem to fall into the second category.
